Why this exists: I set out to find a spreadsheet on Etsy that would meet our DIY retirement planning needs — I bought several but none covered what I was really looking for, so I decided to make my own … and well, I may have gone a bit further than JUST a spreadsheet — I wanted it to look nice (I'm a graphic designer, so I couldn't help myself) and also have all the information we might need throughout our pre-planning and retirement years. This is all mine — for my family, but I think you will find it WAY more comprehensive than what is out there for us DIYers. And the math? Rock solid — every tax, Medicare, and Social Security figure comes straight from the official sources (the IRS, CMS, and SSA) and checks out to the dollar against your own sheet.
